At KAWAI, we value children’s budding interests, and have developed various educational activities centered around music classes in order to nurture children's ability to express themselves openly.
Founded in 1956, Kawai Music School currently has more than 100,000 students worldwide.We promote music education activities suited to contemporary needs, utilizing our long-standing expertise in music school management and the latest music education research.
In addition to music promotion activities, we also concentrate on training instructors to support such activities.We focus our efforts on developing highly qualified instructors needed to spread our music education system, by providing training in understanding the system and lesson implementation as well as in improving their qualifications, and by establishing a grading system to improve the performance skills necessary for performers and instructors and improve the knowledge and musical abilities needed for teaching. In recent years, we have been expanding our music schools overseas through directly managed schools and local distributors in order to promote piano music culture in developing countries, particularly in Southeast Asia.
Kawai Physical Education School started in 1967 under the guidance of the Kawai Musical Instruments Physical Education Club, which operated as the company’s Physical Education department. More recently, we have been developing not only physical education classes for children, but also fitness programs for companies and health courses and senior classes for the elderly.
